How To Choose A Hammock Tarp?

When choosing a tarp there are many factors including weight, material, size/coverage, versatility, durability & tie outs. Let's go over each.
1. Weight. When comparing rain flies make sure you are comparing the same sizes. Or 12' rain fly is a large 144 SF rain fly that can cover 2 hammocks. It is perfect when you need a lot of coverage. However, our 10' or 12' rain flies may be better for backpacking because they are a lighter weight.

2. Material. There are only two logical choices. Ripstop Nylon or spend more on ultralight materials like our Fortress. Ripstop nylon is lightweight, more durable, tear & puncture resistant weatherproof and stronger. Our rain flys have a 2000 PU waterproof rating which is double the waterproof standard.
Fun Fact: Ripstop Nylon is the primary material used in hot air balloons on which your life depends.
Note: We do not offer cheap polyester tarps because they are inferior quality. Ripstop nylon material costs more to produce & we simply refuse to put our name on a low quality product. We hope you appreciate our dedication to quality and value.


3. Tie Outs. Make sure you get a rain fly with plenty of tie outs, especially for a 12' rain fly, so you have plenty of options and configurations available. We offer 19
